As of September 1, 2025, Aral Pulse will close its truck charging stations for passenger cars. The 25 charging points in Germany will then be exclusively available to electric trucks. The trade publication Electrive cites an email that customers received. The particularly generous space and the ability to drive up to the charging stations from the side made these charging points particularly attractive. They offered more convenience than conventional car charging stations, especially for vehicles with trailers. (golem: 25.08.25)
Benefits for car users end
Many drivers took advantage of the large spaces when car charging stations were at capacity. Most car charging stations require reversing in and out, which seems impractical. Truck charging stations, on the other hand, allowed for easy docking. In addition, fast charging with up to 300 kilowatts was available. This significantly reduced charging times and made even long journeys easier to plan.

Nevertheless, Aral Pulse is now drawing clear boundaries. The company also operates car charging stations at the same locations. When bottlenecks occur, drivers apparently often resort to truck parking. The future focus will be clearly on electric trucks, which rely on high-performance charging infrastructure.
Aral Pulse Adjusts App and Access
Starting in September, truck charging stations will no longer appear in the Aral Pulse app. This eliminates the option to access them via the app, charging card, or ad-hoc function. This ensures a clear demarcation. What additional technical measures will prevent access remains unclear.
However, Aral has announced clear signage. “Signage, cable tags, and information” are intended to make it clear that private drivers are excluded. This creates a clear separation within the charging infrastructure. This prioritizes the supply of electric trucks, while car charging stations remain available to private users.
Expansion of the charging infrastructure
Aral Pulse has more than 3,500 charging points at over 500 locations in Germany. This charging infrastructure is among the largest in the country. By excluding passenger cars from truck charging stations, the focus is even more on electric trucks and their growing need for fast charging.
The company is committed to clear prioritization. Demand for high-performance truck charging points is continuously increasing. At the same time, the range of passenger car charging stations remains extensive, ensuring that private users are still served. Aral Pulse is thus positioning itself as a provider that serves both target groups while establishing clear structures in the charging infrastructure.
